Before founding Alex Whaler, Capt Mohamed El Deeb had a distinguished career in the Egyptian Navy, culminating in the esteemed position of Destroyer Commander and retiring as a Commodore. Post-retirement, he took on pivotal roles as DPA, Port Captain, and Company Security Officer for various offshore enterprises. He then collaborated with the Arab Academy for Science and Technology to establish the Regional Maritime Security Institute. In 2009, Capt El Deeb ventured into the private sector by launching North Africa for Trading Co (NATCO), a well-respected shipbroking, marine services, and trading firm that provided consultancy and services to numerous offshore companies.
In 2019, with a vision to expand and innovate, NATCO was rebranded to Alex Whaler. Capt Mohamed El Deeb partnered with his eldest son, Mr Ahmed El Deeb, a renowned marine and offshore consultant with an MBA and a successful track record in various leading offshore roles.
Their combined expertise, extensive network, and stellar reputation in the marine, offshore, oil & gas, and defense industries position Alex Whaler to meet the diverse needs of the energy and shipping sectors. Together, they offer a comprehensive suite of services for both continental offshore and onshore operations.
